Accounting Manager

Full Time Position

The Accounting Manager is responsible for leading and directing all functions related to Payroll Administration, Accounts Payable, Travel & Expense, and Accounts Receivable. The Manager is responsible for creating an environment focused on superior client experience, continuous improvement, exceeding productivity standards and efficiency initiatives.

General Responsibilities

  • Supervise associates and manage the day-to-day operations of the accounts receivable and payables functions
  • Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing financial reports; advising management on needed actions.

Account Receivables Functions

  • Diligently manages and oversees accounts receivable collection efforts
  • Oversees billing, collections, payment processing (controls) and work to actively improve processes with focus on accuracy and client experience
  • Ensures daily, weekly and monthly sales, collections, charge backs and other reports are prepared promptly
  • Supports development, implementations and maintenance of billing accounting and administrative policies and procedures for a wide-ranging set of activities

Accounts Payables Functions

  • Oversee processing of accounts payable and credit card expenses
  • Oversee and ensure accurate and timely payment to vendors, suppliers, company credit cards, utilities, and check requests.
  • Perform final review of all Check Requests, verifying that they are properly approved and general ledger coded by the department head. Ensure integrity of supporting documentation such that SOX 404 controls are adhered to.
  • Perform final review of company credit card statements, verifying that they are properly documented with original receipts, that expenses appear to be business related and properly payable, and that they have been approved by the department head.
  • Perform final review of associate expense reports, verifying that they are properly documented with original receipts, that expenses appear to be business related and properly reimbursable, that proper G/L account coding exists, and that they have been approved by the department head.
  • Prepare balance sheet account reconciliations for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable-related accounts as well as various other balance sheet account reconciliations. Demonstrate ability to understand a detail-to-summary reconciliation and how to take action with respect to reconciling items.

Educational and/or Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or equivalent related work experience
  • 5-10 years of hands-on experience in managing AR/AP processes, payroll administration and internal controls

Accounting Professional

Full Time Position


  • Enters, maintains and records all business related transactions into accounting software
  • Balances ledgers, reconciles bank accounts, and maintains loan balances
  • Prepares month-end journal entries and assists in monthly close process for clients
  • Codes accounts payables, credit cards and expenses to the correct vendor and general ledger account
  • Codes invoices and accounts receivable to the appropriate customer and general ledger account
  • Records payroll journal entries into client accounting, and understands payroll reports and compliance such as 941 and W-2’s
  • Assist in maintaining vendor compliance related to Forms W-9
  • Prepares appropriate monthly, quarterly or year-end schedules and financial reports
  • Maintains fixed asset ledgers and depreciation schedules as needed
  • Follows bookkeeping procedures established by the organization


  • Associate’s Degree in Accounting and/or equivalent related work experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of previous bookkeeping experience required
  • Experience in a busy tax and accounting environment, i.e. national CPA firm or accounting/law firm is a plus
  • Should be client service focused; with a professional, hospitable and friendly demeanor
  • Must have acute attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task and strong time management skills in order to meet strict deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively as an individual contributor and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks versions and other related accounting software
  • Intermediate proficiency using the Microsoft Excel, Office Suite and Outlook

Case Administrator

Full Time Position

About You

We are looking for an administrator with a proven track record of successful case management. The ideal candidate will have attention to detail and a natural desire to serve our clients with diligence and care. In this role you must be able to relate well to others in a consultative and service-oriented manner. You will have an aspiration to maintain impeccabe, accurate case files and you will work with integrity and confidentiality.

About the Role

  • A strong commitment to provide regular and consistent communication to clientele regarding case status, deliverables and expectations
  • Capable of working within a group to achieve both group and individual key performance indicator goals
  • Ability to orchestrate and implement a work priority plan based on deadlines for each work day
  • Perform financial analysis of individual and business documents for tax resolution submittals
  • Keep and maintain a lean workspace that has maximum transparency for senior leadership
  • Prepare, compile and collate tax resolution submittals for case manager approval
  • Have a working knowledge of the Internal Revenue Service manual, procedures, and policies
  • Actively participate in continuing education opportunities

Minimum Qualifications

  • Professional demeanor and appearance in conjunction with general office experience
  • Strong written skills for preparation of cover letters and memos

  • Ability to multi-task, detailed oriented, and strong time management skills
  • Ability to obtain a Central Authorization File Number with the Internal Revenue Service
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency using the following:
    • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
    • Tax Tools
  • College degree in Accounting or Finance preferred
  • Experience with individual and business financial analysis or planning preferred
  • Experience with tax preparation (1040 (all schedules), 1120, 941, 940) preferred

Property Tax Administrator

Full Time Position

The property tax administrator is responsible for providing superior client service for all internal and external clients by using excellent, in-depth knowledge of company products and services as well as communicating effectively with team members within the client relations department.


  • Serves as a 1st point of contact for property tax prospects, internal and external clients; whether in person, over the phone or virtually via email
  • Performs general clerical functions such as sorts, routes and distributes (calls, mail and faxes); prepares correspondence, files, reports and other documents as required
  • Determines requirements by speaking with clients and answers inquiries by clarifying desired information
  • Resolves client complaints or concerns by clarifying issues; researching and exploring answers and alternative solutions; implementing solution
  • Provides timely feedback to immediate supervisor regarding service failures or client concerns.
  • Assists in entering new prospect client information accurately into the CRM Database.
  • Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Actively listen by giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.

Property Tax Consultant

Full Time Positon

We are looking for Property Tax Consultant with a proven track record of success. 


  • Fulfill property tax appeals with appraisal district staff and the Appraisal Review Board
  • Answers general property tax inquiries from current and prospective clients
  • Meets with local clients face-to-face and pro-actively follow up with other clients
  • Manages workload and projects as needed, placing emphasis on efficiency and effectiveness
  • Provides superior client services, ensuring the follow-up/follow-through is completed timely

Educational and/or Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax and/or equivalent related work experience preferred
  • 1-2 years of hands-on experience in managing a property tax appeals process preferred
  • Must have, or be able to obtain TDLR Certification as a Property Tax Consultant, Or Texas RE Salespersons License

Senior Tax Administrator

Full-Time Position

Five Stone Tax Advisers is seeking an administrative assistant with 1-2 years experience in a public accounting office.

The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated professional with strong organizational skills and attention to detail. This individual will oversee multiple projects and associates and should have excellent written and verbal communication. Knowledge of public-accounting practices is strongly preferred.

Position Responsibilities:
Assemble tax returns for final presentation to clients
Answer client phone calls
Work with Tax Preparation team to ensure filing deadlines are met
Access client information within tax software program and CRM tool
Maintain confidential records and files

Preferred Technical Capabilities:
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Adobe
Familiarity with tax software
Prior use of ShareFile or similar portal program
Prior use of Sugar or similar CRM software

Position is full-time (Mon-Fri 8am-5pm) with extended hours during tax season. Salary is commensurate with experience.
